This is an update from Eyman... AKA "The Mom"
Alhamdulilah today was a good day for Zaynab. She was able to eat (not much) without feeling too nauseous. We also had a physical therapist come in and do some exercises in bed to strengthen or loosen her muscles. What was most exciting Alhamdulilah was she was actually able to walk a couple of laps around the pediatric department.
Probably Zaynab's most exciting time of the day was when her teacher, Mrs. Yoshikawa came to visit her today. They talked, laughed and she shared some of the candy that the Mengerinks brought.
Tomorrow Zaynab is scheduled to have another strong dose of chemo so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
We feel so blessed to have such great family and friends!
Mom

Zainab,
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable picture of you, MA! Sorry I had to leave with Rania when the chemo started. InshAllah, we will try to stop by to play Clue with you tomorrow. I'm so glad I was able to see you eating, walking, giggling, and staying strong this morning. May the medicine be easy for you this morning. Please let us know (or your mom) if there is anything we can bring for you tomorrow. Will be making duas for you in the meantime.
Lots of love, Auntie Amy
Thank you all for posting regular updates. Those of us out-of-town folks really, really, really appreciate it. I am so happy to hear that things are moving in the right direction. Zaynab--don't give Uncle Matthew any morphine. He definitely doesn't need to be any goofier. Also, Zaynab, we are sending you healing wishes and an appetite to match ours.
ReplyDeleteLove to all!
Kathryn
Hello Zaynab,
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see you after two years! You were my star third grader and I am sure your fifth grade teacher feels the same. Schallenberger School wishes you the best. We love you and your family.
Even though you are no longer at Schallenberger, you will always be our student! We wish the best to you and your family.
We send our prayers and best thoughts,
Gail Hodgin
